  211. Nifty forms small bullish candle; but red flags have gone upNEW DELHI: The Nifty50 on Monday closed above the 11,300 level for the first time ever. The index formed a small bullish candle on the daily chart that resembled a 'Hanging Man'. While the index formed higher highs and higher lows for the seventh consecutive session, in the process, it entered the overbought zone as suggested by the 14-day relative strength index. Analysts had mixed views by the end of the day; some said Nifty is heading towards the 11,500 in a week’s time, whole others said the time is ripe to take some profit off the table.A Hanging Man is usually seen around short-term turning points. “A confirmation will occur once the Niftyr50 slips below 11,261. A weak daily pattern was accompanied by overbought levels on the oscillator charts, suggesting some sort of pullback. Besides, the index traded at much higher levels than its short-term averages prices, suggesting that the ongoing rally is due for a phase of correction and consolidation,” said Mazhar Mohammad of Chartviewindia.in. For the day, the index rose 41.20 points, or 0.37 per cent, to 11,319. Every small declines got bought into, said Chandan Taparia of Motilal Oswal Securities. The index has to hold above 11,250, Taparia said, to extend its move towards 11,350-11,400 zone. Downside supports are seen in the 11,200-11,171 range, he said.Nagaraj Shetti of HDFC Securities is upbeat on the market. Nifty’s upside target will be the 11,450-500 zone in next one week,” Shetti said.Mohammad, though, advised traders to book profit in the next session and remain on the sidelines till the market corrects and consolidates for a couple of sessions.
