- Corporate Affairs, IIFL Securities, tells ET Now.Edited excerpts: The fact that Reliance Jio has created disruption in the telecom market is yesterdayâs story. Why are markets reacting to yesterdayâs story today? Firstly on the Bharti side, it is more to do with leverage on the dollar and that is hurting the leverage part because of the mark to market and that means that the ARPUs will definitely be more under pressure because of this also. On the Reliance side, it is definitely telling you that they have killed the market on the ancillary side and now suddenly people are realising that the Jio brand is gathering steam on a day-to-day, month-on-month basis. I still think that telcos seem to be in a spot where most of the bad news maybe in the price and price stability particularly on the data side could be coming on the cards, given that the rupee has fallen so strongly. But, you will have to deal with the quarterly numbers and the guidance will hold the key going forward. How are you looking at your top investment ideas from the midcap space right now because in this bounce-back, one is going to wonder where should they park their money? This 10,200 bottom may not be tested again. From closer to 10,500 levels, you should again see buying re-emerge. We have had a non-stop rally from 10,200 to 10,700 and midcaps have clearly shown that they are where the real beta will be made. You mentioned L&T Finance. Supertech builder is going down. They will be part of that but a large part of this weakness has already played out in the price. We have a buy around Rs 120 at L&T Finance. We are extremely bullish on some of the power plays. So, Tata Power at closer to Rs 65, Adani Power at Rs 22, REC as well as PFC have been some of our picks. We are very bullish on cement. We think the worst of the downside on pricing power will be back and volumes are going to surge. Also, I have been bullish on a stock called NBCC all the way from Rs 85 and that stock has underperformed because of environment issues. Now the good news is that they have got of the clearances through and the court has given them another hearing where most of the other issues have been sorted out. Now in this whole fiasco of Supertech, Amrapali and the chaos with other builders, NBCC will now have the lionâs share of the other businesses and execution may be a quarter on quarter issue but they can come back very strongly. They have no issues of finance. It is a debt-free company and the order book now seems very strong for next three years. At Rs 55-56, I would put my money on NBCC for a target of Rs 100-120 in the next one year. In the age of Netflix and Amazon Prime, should one buy the current decline in a PVR or Inox? The verdict is split. At least for me, Netflix has been a blessing in disguise because not only does it save on time, the quality and what I hear from some of the people in Reliance, the broadband is going to shock you. It is the best data you ever seen and the mode is excellent. You will take it with a pinch of salt. Margins are going to be very difficult to protect for the likes of PVR if the problem on the ad front gets extended and the best of that business may be not so comfortable, given the valuation. You would rather play that through some other route rather than go in an area where the glass is half full and half empty. For us, it has been an avoid and we continue to hold that stand.
